Reduce Administrative Barriers Locally
- Track recurring problems: long hold times, offices closed during working hours, forms only in English, or requests for documents people can’t easily get.
- Keep it factual: date, office, what happened. No personal details without consent.
- Report patterns to the agency director, your county board, or state legislators. Specific patterns get attention; general complaints rarely do.
- Language access: programs receiving federal funds have obligations to people with limited English. Ask agencies what interpretation they offer.
