Measurement doesn’t need to be complicated. Pick two or three counts before you start and record them the same way each month.

  • How many people you reached: calls answered, households helped to apply, repairs completed.
  • What happened next, when you can learn it without intruding: application approved, shutoff avoided, repair holding up.
  • What got in the way: the most common reasons people didn’t get help.
  • Share the results with volunteers and local officials. The barriers you record are often the most useful finding.
