Senator John Barrasso represents Wyoming in the U.S. Senate as a member of the Republican Party. John's current Senate term began January 3, 2025 and ends January 3, 2031. John Barrasso earned his medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine and practiced orthopedic surgery in Casper, Wyoming, for more than two decades before entering politics. He was appointed to the Senate in 2007 following Craig Thomas's death and has been re-elected three times, making him Wyoming's senior senator.
