Calendar Placement

Calendar placement is the step of putting a measure on a chamber’s list for possible floor action.

Plain-English Meaning

Calendar placement means a bill, resolution, nomination, or other item has reached a procedural list from which the House or Senate may choose future floor action. Placement does not guarantee a vote; leadership, rules, unanimous consent, and political priorities still determine whether the item moves.
